WOOD RANGE HOODS · NORCROSS, GEORGIA
A range hood is the one piece of a kitchen that is furniture and appliance at the same time. It sits at eye level in the middle of the wall, so it is the first thing anyone looks at, and it also has to clear the cooking. Ours are wood, made in the USA, and supplied unfinished in several profiles.
An unfinished hood arrives as bare wood, ready to paint or stain. That sounds like extra work and it is the opposite: it is the only way to get a hood that genuinely matches a kitchen. Finish it in the same color as the cabinets and it disappears into the run; finish it in a contrasting stain and it becomes the focal point on purpose rather than by accident. A pre-finished hood in someone else's idea of white will be a slightly different white from your doors, and that gap is visible forever.
Whichever of our hood profiles you choose, it is the same bare wood underneath, so the decision is about shape rather than color.
Two measurements decide which hood fits: the width of the range or cooktop it sits over, and the ceiling height of the room. Width sets the hood; ceiling height sets how much of the chimney above it you actually see, and whether a run of wall cabinets either side finishes level with it. Measure both before you shortlist anything.
It is also worth deciding early, because a hood changes the cabinet layout around it. The wall cabinets either side have to be sized to the space that is left, and that is a different sum depending on which hood goes in the middle.
The finish only wants deciding once. If the hood is ordered at the same time as the cabinet run, the same color goes on both and the wall reads as one piece. Ordered afterwards, it becomes a matching exercise against doors that are already on the wall, which is harder and more expensive than it sounds. Send us the range width, the ceiling height and the cabinet finish you have chosen and we will tell you which profile fits: call (470) 564-9496 or send the measurements.
