Cabinet Assembly in Atlanta

Ready-to-assemble is a shipping decision, not a quality one. The cabinet is the same cabinet; it simply travels flat, which is why a whole kitchen fits in a van instead of needing a truck. What is left is the assembly - and that is either your afternoon or ours.

What assembly involves

An RTA box goes together with cam locks and a screwdriver. A competent person builds one in fifteen to twenty minutes, and the second one takes half that because the sequence is the same every time.

Two things go wrong and both are avoidable. Assembling on a bare hard floor marks the door fronts - work on the flattened carton. And squaring the box by eye: check the diagonals before the back panel goes on, because a box built out of square will never hang straight no matter how carefully it is fitted afterwards.

Having us assemble them

Assembly is available as a service and it is charged for. It makes sense in three situations: a large kitchen where the time adds up, a job where the fitters are booked and the boxes need to be ready for them, or simply a customer who would rather not spend a weekend on it.

Assembled cabinets take considerably more room to transport than flat cartons, so how they reach the site changes with them - worth saying at the point of quoting rather than afterwards.

Why the box matters more than the door

Assembly is only as good as what is being assembled. Every carcase here is all-plywood, with a strict no-particleboard policy, and that is what makes a cam lock and a screw hold. Particleboard takes the same fixing and lets go of it years later - which is what causes a wall cabinet to sag away from the wall long after anyone remembers who fitted it.

Cabinets, hinges and drawer glides carry a 12-month limited warranty.

Cost

What it costs. Installation and assembly are charged for, and quoted per job rather than off a price list - the number depends on the size of the run, how much of it is custom, and what the room needs before the cabinets go in. Call (470) 564-9496 or use the contact page with your layout and we will quote it.

Frequently asked questions

Do you assemble ready-to-assemble cabinets?

Yes. Assembly is available as a service and it is charged for, quoted per job.

How long does it take to assemble one cabinet?

Fifteen to twenty minutes for someone doing it for the first time, and less after that. The sequence is identical on every box.

Is RTA lower quality than pre-assembled?

It is the same cabinet - all-plywood boxes, the same doors and the same hardware. The difference is that it travels flat, which is why a whole kitchen loads into a van.

What is the most common assembly mistake?

Not checking the diagonals before the back panel goes on. A box built out of square will never hang straight afterwards. The second is assembling on a hard floor, which marks the fronts.

How much does assembly cost?

Quoted per job, because it depends on how many boxes and where they are going. Call (470) 564-9496.
